Totally Secret Info About Me (ssshhhh!)

I live in a small flat in Chiswick, West London, with a fridge full of chocolate.

My life's ambition is to be a showgirl in Paris 100 years ago (erm, not really possible that one! - Ed.) OK, then, to be a writer - so I am actually doing it - yay! I'd also love a go on a flying trapeze (mainly because of the spangly costume!).

Star sign: Capricorn (we're meant to be practical).

Fave colour: Purple.

Fave animal: Monkey.

Ideal pet: A purple monkey.

Fave hobbies: Dancing, horse riding, yoga and playing the guitar very badly (though not all at once!).

Official Info About Me

After university, I worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency and then as a pre-prep teacher at the wonderful Merlin School. I loved reading to my class - and decided to start writing myself! After completing a creative MA and practising a lot, I was thrilled when my Mermaid Rock stories hit the shelves in 2003, and I have now written over thirty books for children and teens. I love being a full time author - the writing itself is such fun, the school visits are great, and it's a licence to be nosy!
