Happy New Year!!! (02/01/10)

I hope y'all had fab Christmas holidays with lots of fun and pressies and zero embarrassing incidents like the Dog Boy one in Fantasy Fashion or the Ken-dressing one in Boy Band Blues!

I wonder how many of you fancy being authors one day?! - I must tell you that I totally LURVE being one, and I think it's the best job in the world, mostly because if you want you can work in your pyjamas eating chocolate, plus you get to be very nosy and listen in on people's convos to understand characters better, and also you can do events and meet the fab fans like you girls - that's the best bit! Oh, and, BTW some of you were asking in your e-mails about how long it takes to write a Lucy book - it takes probably about 3 months to write a Lucy book - about 1 month solidly writing it, about 1 month to edit it and then a month with the artwork coming in and checking that and doing corrections on the text etc before it goes to press. Oh, and add to that however long it takes to work out the idea and how the story is going to go - that can be about 3 months by itself but not solidly of course, just writing down bits and pieces and spending an hour here and there working it out (usually best to do on a train or on the sofa curled up with a dog or something - see, told you it was a good job!)

I'm going to write on here at the beginning of each month and tell you the latest news and also stuff about being a writer, so check back when you can!
